Minister of Defence of Hungary Dr Csaba Hende paid an official visit to Croatia at the invitation of Minister of Defence of Croatia Davor Bozinovic. At the joined press conference held in Osijek Croatian-Hungarian military relations were praised.
Minister of Defence of Croatia Davor Bozinovic outlined: Hungary is one of the main promoters of Croatia’s Euro-Atlantic integration. The military relations of the two countries prove to be excellent as forty bilateral military cooperation programmes are planned to be conducted by the Hungarian and Croatian troops.
Minister of Defence of Hungary Dr Csaba Hende praised the relations between Hungary and Croatia. Hungary, holding EU’s rotating Presidency is fully committed to Croatia’s accession to the EU. The enhancing cooperation between the two countries is reflected in our bilateral military relations. Since Croatia joined the NATO we have become allies, the minister added. Consequently, we contribute to ensuring global security and representing regional interests. Dr Csaba Hende emphasized the Croatian and Hungarian soldiers’ common peacekeeping mission in Afghanistan. “Hungary is committed to maintain stability not only in Afghanistan but also in the West Balkans where over four hundred troops are deployed,” the minister said.
During his visit Csaba Hende also met the American and Croatian soldiers preparing for OMLT mission in Afghanistan.
