The Chiefs of Defence of the 27 European Member States meet on 3rd May 2011 in Brussels, under the chairmanship of General Håkan Syrén.

The agenda will focus on military operations and capability development including ‘Pooling and sharing’. During the meeting the Chiefs of Defence will brief on the EUMC’s Strategic Plan. On behalf of the Hungarian Presidency General Tibor Benkő will present the current semester’s main activities and programs.

The European Union Military Committee (EUMC) is the highest military body set up within the Council. The EUMC is composed of the Chiefs of Defence of the Member States, who are regularly represented by their permanent Military Representatives at the EUMC’s weekly meetings in Brussels.
