Soldiers deployed in Kosovo have been awarded NATO Medals, service medals for peacekeeping and certificates.

The awarded troops stationed at the military base Villaggio Italia international camp near Peje/ Pec serve as peacekeepers. The Hungarian soldiers carry out their tasks together with Italian, Slovenian and Romanian comrades subordinated to Western multinational battle groups.
The Non Article 5 NATO medals and the certificates have been presented by Col. Davide di Bartolo, Commander of the MNBG West. Not only Hungarian soldiers but Italian servicemen have been awarded, as well.
Lieutenant Colonel Zoltán Katona, Chief of Staff KFOR HQ and 1st Lieutenant Csaba Mészáros Operations Officer were given a service medal for peacekeeping by the Minister of Defence of Italy.
