The Operations Centre of HDF organised a ceremonial meeting on the 20th anniversary of the establishment of the Hungarian arms control on the 28th September.
At the meeting Secretary of State for Defence Policy and Defence Planning Péter Siklósi, Brigadier General Zoltán Mihócza, head of the MoD Force Planning Department and Head of the Defence Policy and Non-Proliferation Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Eszter Sándorfi delivered a speech to the audience.
In his speech, Brigadier General Zoltán Mihócza commemorated the legal predecessor organisations, the achievements and missions accomplished over the past 20 years emphasizing the experience gained during the implementation of the Treaty on Open Skies.
In retrospect of the most important political events of the 20 years, Secretary of State Péter Siklósi highlighted the role of the arms-control regimes during the period following the Cold War. He also indicated that despite the political changes the importance of the conventional arms-control systems had not changed and we had to prepare for the management of the new challenges.
On behalf of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Eszter Sándorfi handed over a flag ribbon to the HDF Operation Centre in recognition of the internationally acknowledged, outstanding accomplishment of the MoD and the HDF in the field arms control.
