Mission: The Force Planning Directorate is a part of the Defence Staff command structure executing specific tasks related to planning and development of Hungarian Defence Forces (HDF) capabilities.

The Directorate is subordinated to the Chief of Defence and headed by the Director of the Force Planning Directorate. The Directorate is responsible for the supervision of force planning tasks and activities over HDF organizations.

Main Tasks: The Directorate elaborates concepts based on national and alliance requirements aimed to develop HDF capabilities and coordinates the process of capability development and supervises, manages all related plans. The Directorate is responsible furthermore for adaptation, synthesis and evaluation of transformation ideas coming from NATO and EU.

Planning and corrigendum of force structure, peacetime and wartime force tables, personnel-strength management, analysis and evaluation of HDF organizations and units.

The Force Planning Directorate implements short-term planning, data-monitoring, evaluation and making various reports about development programs taking part in decision making process of those development programs.
