The Department for Economic Planning and Regulation is responsible for the coordination of economic planning within the Ministry of Defence (MoD), including short and long term resource planning and the yearly budget planning. The task of budgetary planning is carried out in coordination with the Ministry for National Economy.

The Department elaborates the policy and principles of the defence resource management system and its framework regulations. It is also responsible for the administration of the MoD procurement system.

The Head of Department is Hungary’s National Representative at the NATO Resource Policy and Planning Board which is the senior advisory body to the North Atlantic Council on the management of all NATO resources.
