Defence Minister Csaba Hende will on Friday leave the Budapest hospital he was flown to by helicopter after a car accident on Thursday afternoon, a commander of the Hungarian Army's Health Centre told public TV on Friday morning.
The car transporting Hende collided head-on with another car and a total of five people were injured.
Hende suffered a fracture in his right shoulder in the accident on road 2122 between Szécsény and Hollókő in northern Hungary. Another person, also injured in the car crash, was the driver of the other car. The young man suffered abdominal injuries.
The accident occurred on a serpentine road section that a rally driver duo from Szécsény sought to illegally close.
Hende's public programmes have been rescheduled. He was scheduled to address on Friday a conference hosted by the Czech Defence Ministry in Ostrava.
