“The HDF KFOR contingent makes desperate efforts to stand ready for defending the Hungarian land founded 1000 years ago. The troops are ready to conduct peacekeeping operations, resolve the crisis, maintain stability and sustain necessary development in the Balkans.” Lieut. Gen. László Kanyó said in his ceremonial speech.

HDF KFOR 3rd contingent deployed in Kosovo commemorated 20th August, our national holiday. At the military ceremony Lieutenant General László Kanyó saluted the troops then sang the national Anthem together with the soldiers. Afterwards the Lieutenant General commemorated the founding of the Christian Hungarian State emphasizing the common features of the mission and the national holiday. He said that troops of KFOR contingent support the normalization of the local people’s life and contribute to stability.

Following the ceremonial speech 56 soldiers were awarded the service medal, 5 people were given cash rewards for their life- and property saving job accomplished in flood protection. All of them are troops of the HDF 5th ‘István Bocskai’ Infantry Brigade.

At the military ceremony Italia Dorottya Kerekes was promoted to captain, Dániel Cservölgyi to 1st Lieutenant.
