Ministerial Commissioner Piroska Szalai, responsible for the improvement of women’s job prospects, and Minister of State for Economic Regulation Kristóf Szatmáry consulted with businesswomen at an event organized by the Directorate for Social Relationships of Fidesz Hungarian Civic Union to promote cooperation and the discussion of issues of public interest between businesswomen, special interest groups and the Government.
Three new contracts were signed as part of the Women 40+ Programme, a scheme which assists women to gain the forty years of service required for retirement, Minister of State for Employment Sándor Czomba said at a press conference in Budapest.
Hungary is obliged to start repaying interest incurred on the loan offered by Russia for the expansion of the Paks nuclear power plant only after the country has taken out an amount and for only the amount actually used, Minister of State Gábor Orbán said, adding that the financing terms for the loan facility agreement concluded with the Russian partner are very favourable for Hungary.

Industrial output growth that has been lately observed in Hungary appears to continue in 2014: in January, industrial output increased by 6.1 percent year-on-year, while the sector expanded by 3.1 percent month-on-month. The favourable performance has continued to be mainly driven by the vehicle manufacturing sector, but related supplier divisions also meaningfully contributed to the result.
Hungary submitted a Partnership Agreement providing the framework for the utilization of EU resources in 2014-2020 to the European Commission, and calls for tenders are expected to be published as of this autumn, Minister of State Zoltán Cséfalvay said at a press conference.
