Minister of State for Parliament and Economic Strategy Zoltán Cséfalvay stated at a conference organized by economic news website Napi.hu that start-ups will be the catalysts of economic growth.

The “Runway Budapest – Start-up Credo 2.0.2.0”, an economic concept jointly formulated by the representatives of the domestic start-up scene, the Ministry for National Economy and the National Innovation Office, aims to turn Budapest into the start-up capital of Central and Eastern Europe by the end of the decade.

The Minister of State stressed that within the process for strengthening start-up enterprises, the role of the Government is mainly to provide backup in the field of education and training, access to funding as well as taxation and regulation.

In the coming EU fiscal period, the Government projects to spend some HUF 140bn of EU and domestic funds for programmes aiming to support Hungarian start-ups.
