At the new Miskolc headquarters of Waberer's-Szemerey Logisztika Ltd, a road transport and storage services company, one hundred new jobs will be created as an investment valued at HUF 3bn was completed and the new facility was ceremonially opened yesterday.
At the event, Minister of State for Employment Sándor Czomba recalled that it was the Strategic Partnership Agreement concluded between the Government and the company which served as a framework for setting out the long-term state support system for the vocational training of professional truck drivers.
He said that in Borsod-Abaúj-Zemplén and Szabolcs-Szatmár-Bereg Counties more than two hundred people have managed to obtain Government-subsidized driving licences and, simultaneously, the option to work for Waberer's International Pte Co. As he stressed, this investment project is of crucial importance from the aspect of the Hungarian economy in general and employment in particular, as it stimulates hiring as well as the economy.
Haulage and storage is a key economic indicator, and the number of people employed in this sector increased by 15 thousand over the past three years, he added.
Waberer's International President-CEO György Wáberer said that Szemerey Transport Ltd, the domestic market-leader regarding temperature-controlled distribution and Waberer's Logisztika Ltd, a leader in the field of complex logistics services, merged slightly over one year ago and made Miskolc their headquarters. Already in 2013, the new company made profits of HUF 600 million with total turnover of HUF 25bn. The President-CEO also emphasised that Waberer's-Szemerey Ltd is dedicated to long-term investment in Miskolc and the surrounding region.
Thanks to the HUF 3bn investment project, the company purchased, among others, 160 new trucks, the half of them replacing old ones, Waberer's-Szemerey Ltd CEO Lóránd Szemerey said, remarking that in addition to expanding on the domestic market for complex logistics services, the enterprise has also launched cross-border temperature-controlled distribution services. He also stressed that the company handles storage facilities of altogether 150 thousand square metres and their box trucks and trailers covered 50 million kilometres over the past year, transporting goods of 2.5 million tons.
