In January the Ministry for National Economy –based on the relatively favourable preliminary data of the central state budget- assumed that the target deficit of 3.8% for the year 2010 would be met. However, the results of the revised reports of the municipalities already forecast an overrun.

The attached document provides further detail of measures under Hungary’s Structural Reform Programme, which the Government has been implementing systematically since 1 March 2011. The Structural Reform Programme is based on the political thesis of the Széll Kálmán Plan, which aims to secure Hungary's long-term prosperity by stabilising the national budget, boosting growth, extending employment and improving the competitiveness of the economy.
