In contrast with news spread by newspapers, Mr. Gyula Pleschinger continues in his job as Minister of State for Taxes and Financial Affairs at the Ministry for National Economy.

Activities of international institutions such as, for example, the World Bank and the EBRD are supervised by the Board of Governors of individual institutions. Each member country is represented on the Board of Governors by a Governor and a Deputy (Alternate) Governor who are commissioned as members of the government of a member country for the position by their governments. Hungary is represented on the Board of Governors of the World Bank and the EBRD by Mr. György Matolcsy as Governor. Until recently the Alternate Governor at the World Bank has been Minister of State Mr. András Kármán who will be replaced from 19 July 2012 by Minister of State Mr. Gyula Pleschinger at this position.

Mr. Gyula Pleschinger continues to be member of the Hungarian trio of negotiators headed by Chief Negotiator Mr. Mihály Varga.

The decision does not impact existing assignments of Mr. András Kármán who represents Hungary as Chief Executive Officer on the Board of Directors at the London-based EBRD.
