Mr Hutter said the new strategic pact would enable Hungary and GE to place their relationship on new foundations in a changing global economy.

The Government regards innovation and R+D as priorities in order to feed Hungarian small and medium-sized companies into the global innovation network, Minister Matolcsy said at the signing ceremony.

He stated that in the Government's circle of strategic alliances, GE is definitely in the front running, since it has been a partner for over two decades.

It is important that GE finds more and more Hungarian suppliers for its projects, he added. The Hungarian Minister also emphasised that the Government will offer all possible financial resources through Eximbank.
The Hungarian Government has signed similar strategic partnership agreements with the local units of Coca-Cola, Alcoa, Daimler, Suzuki and Hankook as well as with Hungarian pharmaceutical giant Gedeon Richter.
