Minister for National Economy Mihály Varga and former Prime Minister and Finance Minister of Saxony discussed the stance of Germany and Hungary regarding the EU’s economic policy. The German professor was also received by Prime Minister Viktor Orbán.
Mihály Varga and Georg Milbradt exchanged views, among others, on how the European banking union put in place last year influences economic processes and projections in Europe and Hungary. The European Parliament is expected to endorse the launching of the banking union, considered to be a milestone of a common European economic policy, in March 2014.
Traditionally close German-Hungarian economic partnership and the leading role of the German economy prompted Mihály Varga to invite in May 2013 the CDU representative, a renowned economic expert in Europe, to join his Panel of Economic Advisors.
