On 26 November 2013, the National Assembly adopted the key figures of the budget with total revenues of HUF 15 983.7bn and expenditures of HUF 16 968.3bn.

The projected fiscal shortfall is HUF 984.6bn. The central government budget deficit – as a consequence of taking over municipal debt – will increase by HUF 60bn, while the balance at local governments will improve by the same amount and thus, as a whole, the deficit figure for the entire state budget will remain unchanged.

Consequently, the deficit target calculated by EU methodology will also stay unchanged, at 2.9 percent of GDP.
