Mrs Judit Ábrahám Papp was 23 years old when she lost her life in Afghanistan on Monday. Posthumously the Army promoted her from the rank of Technical Sergeant to the rank of Lieutenant and classified her death as honourable.

Three other soldiers were wounded in the vehicle of the convoy heading for Mazar-e- Sharif from Pol-e-Khumri. One of them suffered life-threatening injuries although his condition has been stabilized already; the other two soldiers were seriously wounded.

The transport of the wounded and the war heroine to Hungary will be arranged by the Leadership of the HDF later. At the press conference held at the Ministry of Defence Csaba Hende stated that following the incident Hungary’s participation in Afghanistan remains unchanged.
