The handover-takeover process between the 6th and 7th rotations of the HDF National Support Element Afghanistan (HUN NSE) has entered its last phase. The logisticians – who have done the main share of the work in closing down the Hungarian Defence Forces Provincial Reconstruction Team (HUN PRT) in the period since May 19 – shared the lessons learned in the last six months and handed over the system of relationships with other nations and the tasks to the members of the incoming rotation.
The personnel of the logistic section were working, under desert weather conditions, in the most precise way possible, in the interest of a correct handover-takeover. The temperature was 43 degrees Celsius outside, and reached even the challenging 65 degrees Celsius inside the storage containers. Having finished the inventory of thousands of special materiel, the 7th rotation of the HUN NSE Afghanistan signed the records of transfer on the positions as well.
The final stage of the task took place on June 5 at 10:00 a.m. when the outgoing commander, Col. László Zentai and the incoming one, Col. (Eng.) Dr. Gyula Révész, signed the commanders’ transfer of authority (TOA) documents.
The 7th rotation of the HUN NSE Afghanistan also has the primary mission of providing logistic support for the personnel stationed in the area of operations and serving in individual positions, as well as organizing and implementing the redeployment of the remaining technical-material stocks to be transported back to Hungary.
