The training of the Afghan National Police in Pol-e-Khomri continued under the guidance of Hungarian police officers, who had been sent from the Ministry of Interior to the European Union Police Mission in Afghanistan (EUPOL).
The training of the senior officers of OCC-P (Provincial Operational Coordination Center) leaders was conducted by Hungarian police officers in the framework of the US Legal Assistance Program. The seminar focused on basic human rights, women’s rights and how to stop violence against women.
Maj Tibor Kondás, who was in charge of the training, explained that cooperation was necessary and successful. The training for the Afghan criminal investigation department and the anti-narcotic investigators was longer. The instructors were LtC Péter Dely and Maj Zoltán Porkoláb.
The Afghan National Police and other law enforcement organizations were in great need of the training conducted by the professionals of the investigation departments of Veszprém County and Tolna County Police HQs. The training was held between July 24 and August 9. According to Hungarian trainers development can only be reached by hard and diligent work against drug-abuse in Afghanistan.
