On April 1, the second rotation of the HDF Kabul International Airport Force Protection Contingent (HDF KAIA FPC) assumed guard and security duties at the “gateway to Afghanistan”. The farewell ceremony for the first rotation also included a medal parade and a change of command ceremony as well.
As a symbol of the handover-takeover between the contingent commanders, Col. László Benda passed the Hungarian Tricolors to Col. Zoltán Apáti after signing the transfer of authority documents.
Col. László Benda, the commander of the Force Protection (FP) Group thanked the participating nations for their cooperation. “During the recent period I have received a lot of positive feedbacks on the task execution of the contingent. I am proud of you and thank you for your determination”, the commander stressed.
Brig.-Gen. Adam Philippe, the commander of the Kabul International Airport (KAIA) congratulated the Hungarian troops on the job they have done, through which they have earned the recognition and the NATO medals. The commander pointed out that the FP Group had been giving an outstanding performance in support of the missions at KAIA, adding that he was satisfied with the personnel’s professional attitude to guarding the camp and their 24/7 state of readiness to execute the tasks.
