The HDF National Support Element Afghanistan (HDF NSE) deployed to Mazar-e Sharif received its four brand new, armoured Toyota Land Cruisers at Camp Marmal.
The vehicles were purchased by public procurement procedure that was open for car dealers in Afghanistan.
The tendering ended successfully due to detailed work of HDF NSE and HDF PRT’s mutual committee. Four more Toyotas will be purchased for the Logistics Training School in Kabul by the same procedure. The armoured SUVs will be delivered to the unit around middle of August. The armoured protection and high mobility of Land Cruisers provide security for the Hungarian soldiers on the ground. The cars are fit to the operational requirements in Afghanistan.
By receiving these Toyotas the HDF NSE, a military unit responsible for logistics supply for Hungarian troops in Afghanistan, took enormous steps to be combat-ready till 1. September.
