• The Hungarian Defence Forces Special Operations Team commenced executing its tasks in Afghanistan in the first half of 2009. The members of the team are stationed in Afghanistan in American subordination.
  • Currently the 11th rotation is serving in Afghanistan.
  • The HDF SOT is deployed to execute the tasks specified in the NATO ISAF operational plans for the special operations forces. Their main tasks are to drive back the anti-government forces, to support the Afghan National Security Forces (ANSF) and to assist their preparation and training.
  • In connection with the SOT and the development of Special Forces capabilities, in July 2011 Hungary received another supply of American military equipment as part of the Coalition Support Fund. This time we were provided with 14 High-Mobility Multi-Purpose Wheeled Vehicles (HMMWVs) which assist the training of the SOT in Szolnok, Hungary.
