The Hungarian government utterly condemns the insult recently directed at former Chief Rabbi József Schweitzer, who is one of the most highly respected Hungarian intellectuals.

The Office of the Government’s Spokesman said in a statement that the Government will take action against all expressions of extremism, racism and anti-Semitism, and will do everything in its power to combat words and actions which are incompatible with European norms. The Government wishes to make it absolutely clear that the country will protect all of its citizens from such attacks.
