State Secretary for Foreign Trade and External Economic Relations Péter Szijjártó received Rastislav Kácer, Slovakia’s new ambassador in Budapest at an introductory visit on Friday. At the meeting, they underlined that strengthening economic cooperation between the two countries is a joint endeavour, the State Secretary’s press chief said.
Trade turnover between the two countries reached a record high of almost HUF 9 billion last year, making Slovakia Hungary’s fourth most important trading partner.
Connecting Hungarian and Slovakian gas pipelines and the construction of new border crossing points will contribute considerably towards achieving the two countries’ strategic objectives, the State Secretary's press chief said.
