The Hungarian National Rural Network held an event entitled of Rural Hungary Day – A Carnival Season Merriment on 8 February at the Millenáris cultural centre in Budapest, at which lively rural Hungary and our living traditions were showcased for old and young alike.

Household waste collection using two separate dustbins will begin in Hungary on 1 January 2015, Minister of State for Environmental Affairs Zoltán Illés announced on Tuesday at the foundation stone laying ceremony of Budafilter 94 Ltd's new plastic recycling plant in Mezőfalva, Central Transdanubia.
"The per capita consumption of pork in Hungary should increase by three kilograms within the following year, and we are accordingly launching a campaign to promote pork consumption", Minister for Rural Development Sándor Fazekas announced at a press conference in Budapest today.
As a result of the Ministry of Rural Development's promotion campaign launched at the end of last year, fish consumption is the only area within the food sector that has seen a marked, 20 percent increase in Hungary this year, Minister for Rural Development Sándor Fazekas declared at the opening of this year's fish marketing drive in Tiszafüred on Monday.
