Following the practice of the previous year, the Ministry of Interior is providing HUF One Billion in support for purchasing firewood to those who live in the most disadvantaged parts of the country.

The sum is enough to buy 63 thousand forest cubic meters of wood (1 forest cubic meter: 1x1x1.7 metres). 1625 local governments are taking part in the programme, and they determine who may be regarded as being disadvantaged. The goal of these measures is to save lives during the winter frosts.
