The Office of the State Secretary directs the Ministry’s organisation, and ensures its coordinated operation. It prepares the Ministry’s organisational and operational regulations, makes proposals on the Ministry’s work schedule and continuously monitors implementation of the work schedule.
The State Secretariat for Parliamentary Affairs carries out specific tasks defined by the Minister, and takes part in developing and representing the Ministry’s standpoint. The Minister of State for Parliamentary Affairs directs the mechanisms for reaching cross-party agreement, and gives opinions on plans developed in the course of the Ministry’s preparation of legislation.
The fundamental goal of the State Secretariat for EU Affairs is that Hungary increases its informal authority and influence in the EU through consistent, value-driven policy on Europe.
The Deputy State Secretariat for EU Bilateral Relations, Press and Cultural Diplomacy is responsible for relations with the following states: the Member States of the European Union, Switzerland, Croatia, the Vatican, Liechtenstein, Andorra, Norway and Iceland. Individual departments for various regions coordinate relations between the countries within their remits and the Republic of Hungary, and manage bilateral and multilateral affairs falling within their spheres.
The Deputy State Secretariat for Security Policy directs the work of organisational units responsible for joint EU foreign and security policy, and for issues related to security policy, non-proliferation and arms monitoring ; it supervise oversee activity department duty responsibility the regions of America, the western Balkans, eastern European, south Caucasus and central Asia.
The Deputy State Secretariat for Global Affairs is responsible for Hungary’s bilateral relations with countries in Africa, Asia and the Pacific, as well as for representing the interests of Hungary in the field of international trade, international law and minority law affairs. The Deputy State Secretariat is also responsible for Hungarian participation in participation in international efforts, within the field of international development cooperation and humanitarian assistance.
The fundamental goal of the Deputy State Secretariat for EU Affairs is that Hungary increases its informal authority and influence in the EU through consistent, value-driven policy on Europe. The Office of the Deputy Minister of State regards it as important that Hungary actively contributes to realisation of the European Union’s long-range plans.
The Deputy State Secretariat for Management and Administrative Affairs is responsible for the management of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and the smooth functioning of the Ministry through the optimal use of incoming budget support and institutional funding. It directs and supervises the Ministry’s economic organisation and carries out economic leadership tasks.
