"A worthy intellectual workshop ius being established that will attract visitors from far and wide", Minister for Rural Development Sándor Fazekas said at the inauguration ceremony of the Lace-Makers House in Abádszalók, in Hungary's Northern Great Plains region.

Mr. Fazekas explained that 41 million forints in funding provided within the framework of the New Széchényi Plan had helped the realisation of the 50 million forint Lace-Makers House project, which includes a museum and provides an environment for teaching lace-making techniques.

As Chairman of the Hungaricum Committee, the Minister expressed his hope that Abádszalók's special lace will also be included in the national value depository in the near future. Mr. Fazekas also showed his support for the traditional Hungarian way of life when, in his speech, he encouraged those present to wear traditional folk costume.
