A Hungarian wine has once again won the gold medal at the Biofach international organic product expo in Nuremberg, Germany. The award was won by Orvina Ltd's 2010 Tokaj Zeta. Hungary was represented at this year's expo by the Ministry of Rural Development's Deputy State Secretary for Social and International Relations Katalin Tóth. The expo covers an area of almost 90 thousand square metres, with 2500 exhibitors from 80 countries and tens of thousands of visitors.

At the event, the Deputy State Secretary stressed that the international expo is exceptionally useful both for furthering economic relations and the market positions of Hungarian enterprises, adding that the expo is also an outstanding forum for promoting Hungarian products, with over 1000 journalists present from 36 countries.

The aesthetics and uniformity of the Hungarian stands were enhanced by the national colours and by the fact that they systematically presented authentic Hungarian traditions that help build the country's image, Ms. Tóth said.

The commitment and willingness to cooperate of the Hungarian and international organic sector has opened excellent opportunities for this sector of agriculture, thus increasing the efficiency and diversification of the whole of the economy, she pointed out.

The 16 Hungarian exhibitors presented some 500 products at the expo, including processed cereal products, dried medicinal plant preparations, organic wines and organic cosmetics.
