New IC+ carriages scheduled to set off to Switzerland for final testing

The IC+ carriages of MÁV-START Ltd. completed by the end of last summer are scheduled to set off to Switzerland in March for their final test consisting of the outdoor noise testing of the passing carriages. So far the carriages have successfully completed various measurements, run and brake tests, as well as noise tests performed indoors and at a standstill. Before the final test today the representatives of the press had the opportunity to participate in a test run.
Government support of HUF 1.3 billion for road development in Ferihegyi út

Making budget resources available will enable the construction of a more than 2 km long, new main road in the 17th district of Budapest. Ferihegyi út will help ease traffic in the eastern part of the city and improve the life quality of the inhabitants of the area, Minister of National Development Zsuzsa Németh said in Budapest on March 4, 2014.
Investment of HUF 1.5 billion in Szarvas

The wastewater treatment plant in Szarvas, financed from public and EU funds, started its test run on 27 February, 2014. The investment was inaugurated by Minister of National Development Zsuzsa Németh, who also delivered an address at a conference held on the major EU investments in the town of Szarvas after the inauguration ceremony.

Negotiations are underway for MVM Hungarian Electricity Ltd. to cooperate with Mátra Power Plant Ltd. not merely as a minority partner or a contracting party but to take a bigger and more active role by increasing its ownership, Zsuzsa Németh said at Mátra Power Plant in Visonta on Tuesday.

Connecting to the space industry involves the opportunity of economic success, Deputy State Secretary for Infocommunication Károly Balázs Solymár said on the occasion that a long-term agreement was signed between Aluinvent Ltd. and the European Space Agency in Budapest, on 25 February 2014. The cooperation targets the manufacturing and testing of ultra light aluminium foam product prototypes to be used as space industry applications.

A professional conference entitled Electricity Supply in Hungary in the 21st Century was held at the Hungarian Academy of Sciences on 18 February, 2014, in the framework of which invited speakers elaborated on their views on the issue. In his lecture, Minister of State for Energy Affairs Pál Kovács recalled a statement made by EU Energy Commissioner Günther Oettinger last May according to which the European Commission acknowledged and respected the decisions of national governments on energy mixes applied in order to reduce carbon-dioxide emissions.
National Info-communication Strategy: Fully electronic services in public administration within four years

The National Info-communication Strategy approved at the latest government session outlines the primary objectives of the 2014-2020 period focusing on the fields of digital infrastructure, competence, economy and state.
Large-scale development in the IT infrastructure of Hungarian public education

Last year, the bandwidth of internet access doubled at more than one thousand schools in Hungary, Minister of State for Infocommunication Vilmos Vályi-Nagy announced at a press conference on the achievements of the project Sulinet+ in Mezőkeresztes on 30 January, 2014. Developments are to continue in some 3800 educational institutions this year.
Hungary requests accession to the International Renewable Energy Agency

The international interest representation organ of renewable energy, IRENA (International Renewable Energy Agency) held its annual general assembly in Abu Dhabi, the capital of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) on 18-19 January, 2014. Hungary attended the event as an invited applicant country with an observer status.
Intersputnik cooperation spurs telecommunications development in Hungary

Boosting international relations will give a new impetus to the telecommunications industry in Hungary, Deputy State Secretary for Infocommunications Károly Balázs Solymár said in Budapest on 23 January, 2013. By the agreement signed at the Intersputnik Workshop organised by the Ministry of National Development and the National Media and Infocommunications Authority, Hungary became an active member of the operational decision-making body of the organisation.
