The ramps to and from M7 motorway at the junction of Iparos út in Érd are to be reconstructed by the end of next year and two new ramps are to be built at the junction of M0/M7 motorways at Törökbálint, to be connected to road 8103 by a roundabout, Minister of State for Infrastructure Pál Völner announced in Érd on 24 March, 2014.

The development of the limited-capacity junction at Iparos út will help managing the traffic from the directions of Budapest and Székesfehérvár to Érd and aims to eliminate the dangerous bottlenecks characteristic on the ramps from the motorway at peak time. The priority signs currently in use at the ends of the junction branches at Iparos út are to be replaced by ramp meter traffic lights. There are several traffic technical interventions to be implemented along Iparos út furthermore (junctions with traffic lights, roundabout junctions). Channelizing islands are to be reconstructed at several places and bus stops are to be established at ramp connections from motorways.

Transit traffic in Törökbálint has considerably increased on weekdays in the past few years. A significant part of the vehicles are bound for Budapest and drive onto motorway M1, the joint section of M1/M7, through Törökbálint. Road 8103 bypasses Kerekdomb towards M1 and Budapest, connecting into road 8102. Yet transit traffic uses the streets of the residential area most of the time, because of which it is of primary importance for the town to channel off the traffic causing overload to more traffic tolerant areas. Establishing new connections in the direction of Budapest between the M0/M7 junction and road 8103 is an adequate solution from traffic management and traffic safety aspects. This will be the first time for this arrangement, widely used in other countries, to be applied in Hungary.

The public procurement tenders for the implementation of the investments to be financed from the New Széchenyi Plan may probably be announced this spring already, Head of Communications of National Infrastructure Development Ltd. (NIF Zrt.) Dániel Loppert revealed. Work may start this year already and be completed towards the end of 2015 at the earliest.

The public road management company is set to implement refurbishments on the expressway system on a total length of 180 km and with a planned budget of 27.1bn, Pál Völner recalled. The interventions are to affect, among others, deteriorated surfaced sections typically on one carriageway of M1 and M7 motorways. After the subsidy contract has been signed and the remaining planning tasks have been performed, work is likely to start this autumn. Within the framework of a noise control programme worth HUF 1.2 billion, the missing section of the sound absorption wall is to be constructed along 237 m at Érd Fundoklia Valley and a new, 350 m long transparent wall is to be built at the M0/M7 junction in Törökbálint, also by the end of 2015, the Minister of State added.
