Minister for National Development Tamás Fellegi is on an official visit to Washington between 23 and 27 September 2011. The minister will meet government policymakers in energy and foreign affairs and top private sector executives to discuss primarily energy and climate change policy matters. Tamás Fellegi will participate in the roundtable discussion held with energy experts at the Center for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS) and will give a lecture at the meeting of the Atlantic Council.

During his five-day visit, the Minister for National Development will hold talks, among others, with Dan Poneman, Acting Secretary of Energy, Nat Keohane, Special Assistant to the President for Energy and Environment, Marie Yovanovitch, Deputy Assistant Secretary of the United States Secretary of State for Central Europe, Richard Morningstar, Special Envoy of the United States Secretary of State for Eurasian Energy, Carlos Pascual, Special Envoy and Coordinator of the United States Secretary of State for International Energy Affairs, David McCurdy, President and CEO of the American Gas Association and Jeanne Lopatto, Vice-President of Westinghouse.

In his address to the CSIS Conference, Tamás Fellegi will present the most significant achievements of the Hungarian presidency of the European Council, Hungary’s National Energy Strategy, and the European Commission’s communication on the EU’s energy priorities. At the meeting of the Atlantic Council, Mr Fellegi will deliver an address entitled “Energy Policy and Global Crisis Management: Alliances Old and New”.
