Minister of State for Healthcare Miklós Szócska inaugurated the refurbished neonatal ward of the St Lazar Hospital in the northeast Hungarian town of Salgótarján on Friday.

Mr. Szócska said the staff using the new equipment will have first-hand experience at what it means to work with 21st century instrumentation among 21st century conditions.

The ward has received new incubators, ventilators, infusion pumps and pulsoximeters. Mr. Szócska said the upgrade was part of a healthcare improvement policy which focuses on the rational use of existing resources to achieve the improvement of services.
