- the Human Resources Directorate/Personnel Department commands and controls the personnel administration of the units of the Hungarian Defense Forces (HDF) at peace and in case of state of emergency. It plans, organizes and executes the personnel tasks of the whole military personnel. Moreover, the central personnel administration and the organization and control of the execution to supply data are among its tasks. - according to the relevant laws, establishments and job lists, it provides the required number of military personnel for the maintenance and development of combat readiness and application requirements of the HDF’ units,
- in state of emergency, with the help of recruitment and the restoration of conscription it provides the military personnel for the HDF,
- the Human Resources Directorate/Personnel Department is also responsible for the missions as follows: the preservation of the capability to restore conscription, the planning as well as the command and control of the tasks of augmentation, the administration of volunteer reservists and potential conscripts, the fulfillment of the economical and material requirements of service obligations for the HDF and the organizations contributing to home defense, the help of defense administration organizations,
- on the basis of employment policy, the planning of the conditions of education and training, the professional completion of the supervision of institutions, the organization of the HDF’ homeland and foreign training courses, the initiation of the elaboration of programs and norms of training courses and the supervision of execution also belong to the Human Resources Directorate/Personnel Department,
- according to the ministerial regulation, the head of The Human Resources Directorate/Personnel Department is responsible for the following: acts as staff competent commander regarding the legal issues of the military personnel concerned, the HDF’ military personnel, the preparations before the decision making concerning the appreciation and recognition of individuals and organizations working for home defense,
